I am crucified with Christ
'I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.'
We must continually die to self. If we are to live as God wants us to live then we must grasp this truth and hold onto it. We must see ourselves crucified with Christ. What does that mean?
Well it means among other things that we have put an end of trying to please God through our own good works. It also means that we have accepted that we cannot fulfil the law as demanded by God.
It means that we fully accept that another has pleased God on our behalf. That same person has also fulfilled God's law in every detail on our behalf. Justice has been satisfied through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for sinners. His blood speaketh better things than that of Abel.
The just shall live by faith. It takes faith to believe these things. These things cannot be seen with our eyes. A man must be born again and indwelt by the Spirit of God before he can see Christ as his Redeemer.
If today you are still a stranger to grace and to God then cry to the Lord to open your eyes. My prayer is that you will have a testimony as one of old had, ‘one thing I know, whereas I was blind, now I see.’
When a person is crucified, he dies. If that is the case how then do I now live? We live now because Christ was raised from the dead, and we too are raised from the dead to newness of life in Him. Christ now lives in us. We are spiritual beings. He IS OUR LIFE!
His perfect life, His perfect obedience, His keeping and honouring of the law are some of the assets that have been credited to our account – as if we had performed them.
Are you still trying to please God by your works? Are you still trying to keep the law perfectly? You cannot!
Them that honour Me, I will honour. How then can we honour God if we cannot contribute with good works? By wholly accepting His plan, His way, His Will, His Salvation and His Son as our Redeemer. Everything has been done for us. All we have to do is believe it!
Time to die to self and time to live for Christ.
If any man is in Christ he is a new creature, old things have passed away behold all things have become new. Start today my friend and walk in newness of life. Each new day for the Christian offers a brand new start, with a clean slate as long as we abide in Christ.
Let you light so shine before men that they will know that you have been with Jesus. Would to God that I were able truthfully to say - ‘For me to live is Christ, to die is gain.’
