My Testimony By Jenny Ward.
The Gospel of Luke. Chapter 7: 37-50. tells of a woman who loved Jesus deeply.
She wept over Him and anointed His feet with ointment, and it says she washed
them with her tears. All we know of her is that she was a sinner and probably a
prostitute, or the lady taken in adultery. Jesus said of her "Her sins are many
but she is forgiven because she loved much".
I was like that lady. I had two marriages and within 11 years 14 addresses
including 2 hostels., During all those years I believed in God but life
continued in this vicious circle until one day I remember going into my bedroom
and calling loudly "Jesus help me"..............minutes later my son gave me a
pamphlet which had come through the door even as I prayed. It gave a telephone
number and talked of "miracles" and "Jesus".
You can only imagine with what speed I made that telephone call. The lady who
answered and her husband collected me and took me to an Assemblies of God
Meeting. That is where Jesus Christ revealed Himself to me as the Living God.
He touched me in a mighty, mighty way. He baptised me with Holy Spirit and
cleansed my soul from sin.
Previously I believed but now I know. Jesus lives. Since then I have had a
true companion on Life's journey. Yes there are still difficulties and obstacles
to overcome but they are not insurmountable anymore, with Jesus beside me. He
said "Fear not, I am with You always" and He is.
He has forgiven me all my past mistakes and
teaches me daily the right way to go...He gives me peace and a sure and certain
knowledge that I shall go to live with Him when my span on earth is ended. He
died upon a cross, excruciating torture for my sins, so that if I would believe
in Him and ask Him into my life I might go to live with Him in Heaven for
eternity.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might
be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned." John 3:16-18.
